Well I am back at Cabrini where I always have access to the internet so if you found yourself pining for my rants then your wait is over and the satisfaction I will provide you will be more exquisite then the pain my absence has caused you. It was a great summer but, as every college student knows, school is infinitely greater than home. You should do yourself a favor and download as much sigur ros as possible. But if you need a song that provides immediate satisfaction without a repeat listening then you should download "A perfect sonnet" by bright eyes.

"I believe that lovers should be tied togteher...left there to drown in their innocence." Bright Eyes

"some take delight in the hurley and the bowlin'
I take delight in the juice of the Barley
and courting pretty fair mades in the morning bright and early!" Whiskey in the Jar

Call me Captain Crazy of the Cuckoo Cadets but it sounds like he is waking up early to court women then drink, which seems odd since drinking is really not conducive to an "early bird" philosophy and I cant imagine the maids he is looking for are on their way to the Farmer's market. "Hey its 4 AM lets go drinking and girl hunting!" Email me and call me an idiot if you disagree but this is an odd lyric for that reason and also that it says that some take delight in "hurley" and "bowlin'."

"All there is after us are the songs that we play." the promise ring

Wondering if you're record collection is complete? Well guess what it isn't without Woody Guthries "Dustbowl Ballads." There are two songs dedicated to giving a plot synopsis of The Grapes of Wrath. Each song is done in country ballad form but it sounds so..... raw. It seems like his guitar was found in some desert oasis being worn by the moisture, sun, and cold desert nights....the strings twang like rust its just great........so if you are interested in the period get it, or folk music or country music, or steinbeck, or how to write a great and meaningful songs.

This post is for anybody who actually takes the time to read this thing...thanks.

i got tickets to go see bright eyes. Ever go to a concert of one of your favorite artists and know all the words to almost every song but then he plays a song that only hardcore fans know. I can see all of them with their t-shirts and beanies screaming the lyrics to these hidden hits with abandon and me smiling like an idiot waiting for a song that produces less joy for everyone. Well i am sure this will occur this monday but i am discovering some of his older stuff and i just love the stuff i am hearing off of his album fevers and mirrors.

well easter is over so anyone participating in the attack on d12 should be ready and rapping by tuesday night...Well lets talk about my band washtub cadence [the name is from a great novel by F. Scot Fitzgerald Tender is the Night.] Well we got a new member to play keyboard and guitar and moandolin and sing and it just sounds great. The drummer and bassist are finding their niche but there are still a few bugs that must be worked out and I see it coming out in my songwriting...what is the difference between ambience and a lack of direction? Think treefingers by radiohead versus godless by the dandy warhols....then IM me or email me or smoke signal me or send me a letter on old aged yellow paper ripped out of an old book that was only fifty cents [i cant believe paperbacks used to be 50cents and that my parents have some!] Well thats it for now i am writing this from home so I do not have a heck of a lot of time to elaborate on this post...

Well if there is any place to drink on earth its boston. Boston was a greatly exagerated philadelphia and even in the pouring rain the city is great, though it is very easy to get "lost in Boston." While in boston i was reading a little walt whitman and here is an excerpt i considered relatively poignant;

"I play a great marches for conquered and slain persons...Battles are lost in the same spirit they are won...I sound truimphal drums for the dead" Whitman

and another fantastic line from the same poem, Song of Myself, is;

"Steeped amid honeyed morphine." Whitman

I loved A Streetcar Named Desire but I think I enjoyed The Glass Menagerie for more sentimental and less intellectual reasons. Regardless Williams is my favorite playright.

and another thing....I realize that having insane grammatical mistakes in my criticism of people who interfere with english classes, and my intention to become an english teacher, does not help to validate any of my points but in my defense i type them fastt with no reread, this is really just a flow of conscionesness.
